Princeton, a band coming from the sunny coast of Los Angeles, might seem far away from something England, but in fact, the beginning vocals – off this 2011 single – strongly resemble the Manchester, England natives, The Smiths. Take that similarity as you may–the real intriguing aspect of this track, comes from its smooth, wiry flow of a rhythm which peaks in the middle with a sort of studder-step breakdown on the electric guitar, with a glimmer of background shine that really gets you bopping to the tune. The vocals of Princeton finally come into their own with the later part of the track which nicely leaves us with an original sound to guessing what is next for more great tracks from Princeton… [download mp3 (here)] and/or buy this @: eMusic , Amazon, or Insound

Nice tune – thanks for posting it as I missed it too. Definitely an 80′s British post-punk vibe to it, although I’d cite the Postcard sound of Orange Juice or Josef K as an influence.
